Urbanears are known for their bright, minimalistic designed headphones and the Plattan Adv Wireless are not an exception. I recently bought a headset myself a couple of weeks ago and I will admit it was the colour that first caught my eye, but since then I have discovered that fashion headphones can still deliver good sound over a long period of time.
They are called the "perfect classic headphone on steroids" for a reason.
The big perk for me were the fact that these are wireless headphones. All you need to do is connect them to your Bluetooth device and you're ready to go! Although they come with a backup cable to use, I found that it tends to pick up a lot of noise from the cable moving around so I would suggest using these in an emergency i.e. when the battery runs out. One function I do like however is the swipe/tap interface that allows you to control music from the right earcup.
- Swipe left and right to skip to the next song
- Swipe up and down to control volume
- Tap once to play and pause music, or answer incoming call.
- Double tap to end call.
Sure, this does take getting used to and there will be times where you accidentally knock the earcup causing it to make a change you weren't expecting but in this case the pros do outweigh the cons. A small feature like this really does make listening to music that bit easier!
In terms of audio performance, the sound quality is surprisingly solid with a decent bass and good delivery. Personally I use the Plattan Adv Wireless for listening to podcasts and the radio especially when commuting so for everyday use it's perfect. If you're looking for something to blow your mind (or your ears) then these won't be what you're looking for. An all-in-all moderate sound is what you should expect from this headset.
With a 14 hour battery life you could say that's excellent considering the price! Depending how long you would want to use them each day, you may not need to charge for at least a week which is a pretty good deal if you ask me!
Now onto the washable headband: no you've read that right, you can wash the Plattan Adv Wireless! Okay not the actual headphones but the detachable headband can be put straight in the wash to keep your headphones feeling fresh and looking like new. This would be ideal for active people who are wanting to wear a stylish headset during a workout without worrying that the smell of the gym will lingering home with you. These are also collapsible to allow easy storage which make it perfect for those on the move!
