Hi there! Welcome to our blog where we will be reviewing our great products, sharing company and industry news and giving you the chance to win some fantastic competitions.
So who are we and what do we do? Many of you reading this may not have heard of Tekzone before, but we have been around in one form or another for 50 years! As a company we are a consumer electronics retailer, and we love what we do. We are dedicated to offering the best products, the highest quality brands, and are proud to offer them at the best prices. Throughout our 50 years of business, we have been committed to offering our customers the best possible service and we hope you will order you next tech product from us.
As a company, we have stores (concessions) within large department stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester. We also operated Walton Cameras, a once-thriving photographic and printing shop that had served the local community in Walton-on-Thames for many years.
Our Company History
In 1965 Derek Gardner, a schoolteacher decided to set up a photography business, following his passion for taking pictures.
He became a wedding photographer and set up Derek Gardner Ltd. This company offered his customers good old fashioned service, which we at Tekzone still hold as a key aspect of our company values today.
Derek Gardner Ltd developed and the photography studio started selling equipment to its customers, and this transformed the business into a flourishing retailer which was eventually sold to Debenhams plc.
Walton Cameras was established in 1980 and sadly closed its doors in 2023 in Walton-on-Thames.
Today our name has changed, and at Tekzone we aim to continue Derek Gardner’s commitment to offering high quality products at the best prices and continue our dedication to high quality service.
