3D Sound Field is an audio technology that enhances the listening experience. Normally, headphones deliver sound directly to your ears, making the source clear but challenging to pinpoint in terms of direction or location.

With 3D Sound Field, it utilises over 30 years of CINEMA DSP processing used in home theatre products. It transforms standard 2-channel audio into a more immersive and multi-dimensional experience. This technology achieves localisation of the sound source by employing a proprietary technique known as HRTF (head-related transfer function). It synthesises binaural audio and reimagines the original two-channel sound source in a way that creates a three-dimensional sound space. This results in a more spatially accurate and immersive audio experience, allowing you to better perceive the direction and location of individual sounds and instruments when using headphones or earphones.

OPTIMISED FOR MY EXPERIENCE

Yamaha’s Listening Optimiser utilises an in-ear microphone to measure the seal and air leakage from different-shaped ears every 20 seconds. Playback is optimised in real-time to correct the difference between the source and the actual listening condition, delivering a sound customized to the individual listener.
